The Riverside community has been inspired by protesters of New York, to start their own revolt. Occupy Riverside is their title, and the community has united to protest. They want the government to bail out schools, and social services, not banks alone.

Families believe that longer school hours will affect their bonds with their children. They believe that they don't get enough time with their children already, since school is about 8 hours and the parents also have work, they barely  see each other. Even so, most people view longer school hours as practical and even economical for the future. More school hours mean that more time to learn, but it will only be effective if the teacher is great, if not then it will just be a waste of time and money.

With tenure, teachers might start to slack, once they know that they won't be fired, which affects the students learning. Teachers believe that tenure improves teaching, since it motivates them a lot more. Although that is not always the case, some teachers who get tenure might not be even effective in running a classroom.
